Our High School Theater Classes
Second Theater Option A class of 30 Second Year students is reserved for optional Theater teaching. Classes (2h/week) take place in half-groups of 15 students. They are looked after by Mmes VLAVIANOU (Letters / Theatre) and MERIAUX (History-Geography / Theatre), who alternate the two groups depending on the week. On the program: improvisation exercises, individual and collective play, meetings with artists from the MC93, spectator school. Final rendition to MC93 in various forms. In Première, theater teaching can be continued (Option and/or Theater Specialty) or abandoned. Quarterly evaluation.

Theater option in Première and Terminale Classes made up of 20-30 volunteer students from all general or technological classes in Première and Terminale. Classes (3h / week) take place mainly at the MC93 Studio. They are taken care of jointly by Mmes VLAVIANOU (Letters/Theatre) and MERIAUX (History-Geography/Theatre), in collaboration with an artistic speaker from the MC93. On the program: Acquire practical, cultural and methodological skills from stage work and a rich spectator school. General Première and Terminale students are free to combine Theater Option teaching with Theater Specialty teaching. Final rendition on stage during the Festival des Écoles organized by the MC93. Evaluation in continuous control in Première as in Terminale, based on the collective game and the individual creation notebook.

Specialty Theater in First General A class of 20-21 students who have chosen the Theater specialty from among their three Première specialties (reform of the 2019 baccalaureate). Classes (4h / week including 3h of practice and 1h of theory) take place at the high school and at the MC93. They are supported jointly by Mmes VLAVIANOU (Letters / Theatre) and MERIAUX (History-Geography / Theatre), with the help of an artistic speaker from the MC93. On the program: introduction to the history of Western theatre; analysis of all the constituent elements of a representation; aesthetic and social role of theatre; theatrical practice; diverse path of the spectator. Final rendition on stage during the Festival des Écoles organized by the MC93. National assessment for "renouncers" only, based on an oral (game and interview) and the individual logbook (coefficient 5 at the baccalaureate).

Theater specialty in Terminale générale A class of around twenty students combining this specialty teaching with another specialty offered in high school, the combinations being free (TH-HLPHI, TH-LLCE, TH-Maths, etc.). Classes (6 hours per week including 4 hours of practice and 2 hours of theory) take place at the MC93 and at the high school. They are taken care of by Mmes VLAVIANOU and MERIAUX, with the assistance of an artistic speaker from the MC93. On the program: works defined on a national scale which open up as much to an in-depth analysis of theater as a social practice in its various restitutions (live performance or theater film) as to a stage experience; diverse path of the spectator. Final rendition on stage during the Festival des Écoles organized by the MC93. National assessment based on 2 written tests, an oral test (game and interview) and the individual logbook (coefficient 16 at the baccalaureate). The Theater Specialty also promotes the good preparation of students for the Grand Oral test, which is based on the two specialties followed in Terminale.
